The University of Aberdeen’s new Centre for Women’s Health Research has been officially launched by Her Excellency Dr Sheikha Aisha Bint Faleh Al Thani, on the 7th of March 2018. Dr Sheikha Aisha was on an official visit to the city where she participated in an event on Thursday 8th of March to celebrate International Women’s Day. On Wednesday 7th Her Excellency received a tour of the Foresterhill campus including demonstrations by students, explanations of research strengths and a look at the new Rowett facility.
The University of Aberdeen has signed an articulation agreement for degree pathways with College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CAN-Q), in the presence of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed Al-Sada, HE Dr. Sheikha Aisha Bint Faleh Al-Thani, Chairperson and Founder of AFG College with the University of Aberdeen; Dr. Karen Foster, Provost of University of Aberdeen Qatar; Dr. William Radford, President of College of the North Atlantic in Canada; Mr. Brian Buckley, Principal of AFG College with the University of Aberdeen and Dr. Ken MacLeod, President of CNA-Q.
The University of Aberdeen has been named as Scottish University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.
The University was judged to have performed strongly in areas including teaching quality, degree outcomes, and graduate prospects.
The Guide has also acknowledged the University’s world-leading medical research, which was recognised earlier this year when Aberdeen was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize – the highest national honour for a UK university.
